太空堡垒: 来自群星

CHAPTER 1

The U.S.S. Kenosha was first introduced in Robotech The Graphic Novel in 1986 and mentioned again in the novelizations from Del Rey. The Kenosha had been previously described as a "Gibraltar-class" carrier, which is curious because Roy is assumed to be American, but then again, it's not a Nimitz-class carrier either. After considering all this and the Kenosha's unfortunate demise in the storyline, it was designated CVN-90 to avoid the likelihood that any real-life carrier would be so christened in the near future. Note that by 2008, a CVS-101 Prometheus will have entered service.

Roy's VF-84 Jolly Roger squadron existed in real life when Robotech first aired on TV in 1985. However, They have been previously referred to as Z-9 Peregrines in some licensed publications, though the official U.S. joint armed forces designation for "Z" had only been used for planned or obsolete aircraft.

New Macross City circa 2015

Admiral Hayes (the father of the SDF-1's future first officer) is introduced as the distinctly American CO (commanding officer) of the Kenosha carrier group. On the other hand, Gloval's original ethnicity is emphasized with his introduction as part of the Russian navy, who is not the true adversary in this post-Soviet conflict.

CHAPTER 2
Roy makes his grand entrance piloting a Mockingbird Fanjet in a direct homage to "Boobytrap" - the first TV episode of Robotech in which Rick arrives on Roy's turf at Macross Island in the same plane using the same maneuver that Roy had taught Rick.

Admiral Hayes and Roy towards the end of this chapter are seen in RDF uniforms for the first time. Note that in 2005, the charter of the United Earth Government had just been ratified, effectively superseding the original mandate of the United Nations. In a typical problem of science fiction, we're seeing these futuristic dates creep upon us-essentially turning tales of the future into alternate reality.
T.R. Edwards had been previously introduced in Robotech: The Graphic Novel to become a major adversary in Robotech: The Sentinels. He has been revisualized, but his role as an adversary to Roy from within the RDF remains largely the same. Fans are welcome to speculate whether the two actually faced one another in the previous chapter.

CHAPTER 3
Dr. Emil Lang is shown with visible pupils, unlike in the TV episodes where his eyes have become completely black. Some of his scientific colleagues are overheard speaking a mix of English and native German regarding the mysterious physiological effects from the new alien technology. Understanding the German dialog is not critical to enjoying the storyline, though some fans will enjoy that it does indeed flow with the plot.

Claudia is seen accompanied to the SDF-1 by her younger brother Vince, who had previously not been introduced until Robotech: The Sentinels in 1986. Incidentally, Claudia and Roy do not start off as strangers in this storyline. In the TV episode "A Rainy Night," Claudia describes her experience of first meeting Roy while he was stationed in Wyoming. This encounter had taken place some time between the events of Chapter 1 and 2 and is the implied subject of Vince's advice to Claudia. Note that the three bridge trainees working with Claudia (including her friend Janine) will eventually be entrusted to operate the SDF-1's pinpoint barrier system.

Note that the group of disheveled pilots, which include former mercenaries, includes an individual named Jack among them. Though it appears his dialog was reversed with a fellow named Johnny Wolfe.

The YF-1 introduced to Roy carries the "test" paint scheme of the VF-X prototype. However, its arms and legs (but not the head) are fully articulated, allowing for transformation as far as Guardian mode.

Though the Anti-Unification League was mentioned only sporadically in the TV series, they were implicated in major offenses during the Great War before the arrival of the Zentraedi, including the loss of all the crew at Mars Base Sara.
